The 2007 special edition ornament is modeled after a Panzer tractor in the Virginians at Work exhibition at the Virginia Historical Society.
Virginia Metalcrafters purchased the Panzer Tractor Company in 1960 and produced tractors to counter-balance the seasonal sales of stoves, the principal product of the Waynesboro, Virginia foundry. The tractors were manufactured with considerable success until 1969, when competition from larger manufacturers forced the sale of the business. In 1971, the iron foundry structure was dismantled, and Virginia Metalcrafters concentrated on the manufacture of sand cast decorative brass pieces.
Reproduced in solid brass with 24 carat gold plate and enamel finish. 2 1/2" x 3 1/4", gift boxed
