This notecard set features two landscape paintings by Edward Beyer: View of Liberty and the Peaks of Otter, 1855 and View of Wytheville, 1855. Beyer, a German artist, painted in response to both the setting and uncomplicated taste of his American patrons, who wanted pictures that honestly replicated their environment. These two paintings are part of the Lora Robins Collection of Virginia Art, which also includes more than one hundred important Virginia landscapes.
Set includes 8 assorted notecards and envelopes.
Cards measure 9 1/4" x 4".
