This Special Collector's Edition of the 1972 film biography of blues singer Billie Holiday is one of five movies included in the Virginia Historical Society's Voice of the South: A Film Series program being held during the spring of 2008.
Starring Diana Ross as "Lady Day," the film was nominated for five Academy Awards and co-starred Richard Pryor and Billie Dee Williams. Special DVD features include commentary by Executive Producer Berry Gordy and deleted scenes.
