Unique to the Virginia Historical Society, this reproduction of the famous Charles Hoffbauer mural is framed in dark rosewood with a black on gold double mat. The Summer Mural features Robert E. Lee on his white steed, surrounded by Confederate commanders. Although no such meeting ever took place, Hoffbauer uses artistic freedom to depict a striking group portrait.
