No matter what you drink—drink it in true Virginia style! While the Silver in Virginia exhibition at the Virginia Historical Society contains many different silver cups and beakers, these lovely pewter cups represent two distinct designs from the 19th century.
The Virginia Julep Cup, which was designed by John Adam of Alexandria circa 1805. A straight sided beaker, the Julep Cup is one of several forms that came out of Virginia during the colonial and early republic periods. These reproductions represent a faithful recreation of the original as well as a slightly smaller version with an added handle for use as a baby cup!
